T.A. Cook joined the effort to provide lifelong education, support, and resources to individuals with Down syndrome, their families, and the communities they live within, with a donation to the Down Syndrome Association of Houston.
Social responsibility is at the core of our company values. Each year, we make a point of donating to social and charitable projects worldwide. We also support the efforts of our employees by providing them with funds and opportunities to take action in the local communities.
Donation to the Down Syndrome Association of Houston
„In my 9 years working in and travelling to Birmingham each week, I am saddened at how the issue of homelessness continues to affect the city. As government cuts have taken hold, the number of homeless people on the streets of the city is growing. As a key provider of support, services, food, clothing, plus physical and mental health support, we are proud to be supporting SIFA Fireside this Christmas.“

Delivering Hope - Fighting Childhood Hunger at their Doorsteps
Entering its eighth year, #GivingTuesday is a global day of giving fueled by the power of social media and collaboration. The T.A. Cook Houston team celebrated this special day by volunteering at the local Kids’ Meals combined with a $15,000 donation.
Kids’ Meals is a local non-profit organization that delivers free healthy meals to the doorsteps of Houston’s hungriest preschool-aged children and through collaboration provides their families with resources to help end the cycle of poverty. Our team’s volunteering efforts helped package over 500 lunches, while our company donation will go directly to food costs and delivery driver salary.
In the Houston area alone, over 88,000 children are living in food insecure homes, meaning they may not know when their next meal is coming. That is 1 out of 4 preschoolers!
Kids’ Mealsdelivers nearly 3,000 meals daily.
During the holidays and school breaks Kids’ Mealsdelivers nearly 5,000 meals a day in order to feed the siblings that will no longer be able to receive free lunch at school.
Jubilee Year 2014: The initiative „20 GOOD DEEDS“
T.A. Cook turned 20, and for every year we did a good deed! Over the course of the entire year, employees initiated different events and invested their time and energy to support a good cause that they themselves selected. T.A. Cook supported its employees’ commitment with money, time or donations in kind.
Support for Africa
T.A. Cook supported the fight against Ebola by donating to Doctors Without Borders. Another donation was given for the construction of a multipurpose building in a South African township.
Doctors in Tanzania
As in previous years, T.A. Cook’s Christmas appeal called on people to support a good cause with the click of a mouse. Those who clicked on the link sent by email helped to support the Mbesa Mission Hospital and the young doctors Mr. and Mrs. Seckelmann in southern Tanzania in two ways: ‘symbolically’ by placing a flag on an interactive map and joining the project network, and financially, as for every click, T.A. Cook made a donation to the hospital. The total sum raised by mouseclick was rounded up to 10,000 euros by T.A. Cook.
Helping Children Recover from Cancer
Christmas is one of the most important celebrations of the year for families. Especially children count down the days to Christmas Day in great anticipation.
With this in mind, T.A. Cook decided that this year’s fundraiser should be in aid of the Deutsche Kinderkrebsnachsorge, a German charity providing aftercare for children with cancer. A new centre is planned for Brandenburg to provide children with better therapeutical and medical services. One of the centre’s main objectives is to integrate family members and offer them a safe place to recover and find new strength.
